01| Make a splash with psychedelic bags from Gucci…
Gentlemen, festive dressing need not be boring: In fact, it’s probably the best event-going season to be a bit more daring with your style. (Everyone’s probably too sloshed to judge too critically, anyway.)
But Gucci’s new bags coyly toe the line between tasteful and outlandish, what with their rainbow-hued monograms on finely structured satchels, duffles and haversacks. You’ll make an entrance — and still look the part of the consummate gentleman.
02 | …Or channel understated luxury with Vacheron Constantin’s his-and-hers minute repeaters
Sometimes, you don’t need loud and large to make a statement. Vacheron Constantin’s Minute Repeater Ultra-Thin ‘Dance of the Gemstones’ prove just that.
Set to the beat of the slim 1731 calibre, this pure, unadulterated timepiece is accentuated by Grand Feu enamel dials adorned with precious stone hour-markers. The smaller model, which is the first ladies’ minute repeater model offered by the Maison in this size, is also graced with an additional row of brilliant-cut diamonds on its lugs and bezel.
03 | Shake up your Christmas dinners with Grand Shanghai’s limited-time, Michelin-starred menu
Tired of the endless turkey dinners and puddings? Cleanse your palette with Grand Shanghai’s exclusive two Michelin-star collaboration menu, available for three nights only.
From December 24 to 26, the head chef of Shanghai’s two-starred Canton 8 will be in town to offer an exclusive eight-course menu of Shanghainese delights — think Boston lobster claws dipped in Chinese wine and slow-cooked wagyu beef ribs in black pepper.
04 | Zhoosh up your home and outfits with these sensuous new fragrances from Ethan K
Local designer Ethan Koh makes his first foray into the world of fragrances with this new, intimate line of scented candles and eau de parfums. The sultry Mystical Sanctuary and Mystical Nature are each inspired by the starry night skies, while the romantic Mystical Love and Mystical Allure borrow their floral notes from the brightness of the coming spring.
Also, the scented candle lids are topped with semi-precious stone ornaments — the same ones that are used as clasps from Ethan K’s bespoke bags. Talk about armoire candy.
05 | Experience puppy love, and Roger Vivier’s Christmas collection, in its new short film
The star of Roger Viver’s new Christmas campaign might not have graced any red carpets in his time, but he’s certainly one to swoon over. Enter Tuna, the rescue dog with over 2 million Instagram followers in his mini film debut, “I Woof You!”.
Aside from an adorable puppy love side-plot, the video features a selection of special holiday shoes and accessories from the brand, all suitably glammed up for the festive season — we especially love the elegant boule strass heel of the Vivier Marlene sandal.
Watch the video here to find out if Tuna reunites with his true love at Christmas, or just to see Roger Vivier’s new offerings.
