The Louis Vuitton autumn/winter 2022 menswear collection will be making its way to Bangkok, Thailand for a special spin-off show. The collection was first presented in January 2022 in Paris and is one of artistic director Virgil Abloh’s posthumous work for Louis Vuitton.
The original show centred around a surreal, dream-like set and featured a live orchestra as well as movement artists performing as models walked by. While details are relatively scarce about Bangkok’s spin-off show, we do know that it’s effectively called Louis Dreamhouse². The pre-show notes tell of a “physical but surrealist sphere where everything is circulated: the sun orbits the set as models travel in circular passages and instruments float planetarily in the dreamy ether” — a conceptual staging that’s truly Abloh.
In addition to the second showing of the autumn/winter 2022 menswear collection — where previously unseen looks will also make their debut — a short film by Thai filmmaker Sivaroj Kongsakul is set to kick off the show. I Dreamt of You is said to be based on the filmmaker’s own childhood and tells the story of an 11-year-old boy going through life within the surroundings of rural Thailand.
In other words, the Louis Vuitton men’s autumn/winter 2022 spin-off show is poised to be quite an event not to be missed.
