The world’s first cultured pearl producer, Mikimoto, has just launched a larger space on level one of Marina Bay Sands. And what better way to celebrate than to throw a fabulous party. Mikimoto went all out with an ocean-themed extravaganza on 15 August for this reopening.
The launch was made official by a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Yasuhiko Hashimoto, director and senior vice-president of sales and marketing at Mikimoto; Amanda Wu, executive director of Mikimoto Singapore and Hazel Chan-Bradshaw, vice-president of retail, Marina Bay Sands.
The guests were entertained by musical performances including one by the award-winning flutist Rit Xu, as well as fluid dances against a suspended 14-metre crystal light structure that seemed to stream into “The Ocean”, the evening’s digital light canvas on basement two. Themed to the brand’s campaign #Findyourpearl, the dances urged everyone to find their strength and inner beauty. Guests also viewed a high jewellery collection especially flown in for the occasion. The gorgeous pieces such as the Mikimoto Akoya Cultured Pearl and Diamond Necklace, shaped like a ruffled collar, were displayed for the eyes of VIP guests including Tetty Hakim, Tan Min-Li and more.
