01 | Quirky Clutches
No sparkle, no problem — expect plenty of odd shapes instead. At Simone Rocha, clutches were crafted to mimic oversized river rocks. Stella McCartney kept it cool with the trapezoid. Bottega Veneta also earned nods all around with this wavy wonder.
02 | Feathers Fly High
Soar up the best-dressed list with prime plumage picks. Dries Van Noten and Altuzarra turned out clutches in inky ostrich quills and fluffy marabou feathers respectively while Balenciaga took flight in feather-trimmed slip-on sandals. Loewe got in on the action too as models donned tufted headpieces to match everything from tailored ensembles to silk gowns.
03 | A (Y)ear Of Drama
There’s no better time than now to whip out those extravagant earrings. Spotted on the Autumn/Winter 2020 catwalks and straight onto our sidewalks: sculptural danglers by Giorgio Armani, fishbone-inspired stunners by Givenchy and abstract petal chandelier charmers by Valentino.
04 | Wrist Capital
Draw attention to this season’s hottest erogenous zone: the wrist. Start with Chanel’s pearls-and-chains masterpiece, or gilded leather cuffs by Hermès. Gucci went for size with crystal-studded bangles in humongous proportions while Celine amped up gold cuffs with faceted crystals.
05 | Heels You Can Run In
You’ve been working out? Show off those leaner gams in haute sportif stompers like hot pink Marine Serre rubber-soled kitten heels, futuristic silver Prada steppers and multi-coloured Versace platform pleasers.
06 | Take It From The Top
Old is new again as the kisslock purse — a Fifties favourite — returns with
eye-popping bling and dramatic finishes. Erdem elevated it with pearls and paillettes while Prada swathed a mini marvel in beautiful beaded crystal fringe.
07 | Show Of Hands
Hands and fingers can convey so many messages, including friendship and protection, to help people stay connected while practising social distancing. Pierpaolo Piccioli translated them into statement necklaces at Valentino while Victoria Beckham offered belt buckles shaped like clasping hands.
