The circuit breaker has meant that everyone has had to adapt to living lives that are more digitally connected than ever. Whether that means home-based learning for the kids, workout classes mediated by a screen, or even wine tastings over zoom, we cannot deny that everyone’s digital conferencing skills have seen a big upgrade over the last two months. Brands have also stepped up their game with plenty of digital initiatives, with the latest coming in the form of improved e-commerce and remote shopping programmes — including via Whatsapp.

Here, we shortlist the latest in your remote beauty shopping options.

Chanel

While not strictly an e-commerce service, Chanel’s new e-concierge and home delivery service for its fragrance and beauty products will still help to scratch that retail therapy itch. Simply place a request via chanelsg.com, and a beauty advisor will get in touch with you personally via phone call or text to ascertain your order. Payment can then be made via a personalised email link. After that, you can sit back and wait for the products to land on your doorstep. Chanel has also told us that they plan to roll out virtual makeup and skincare sessions, so stay tuned for further updates.

Sulwhasoo

Premium Korean skincare brand Sulwhasoo has also just launched its own e-lounge service, which allows customers to communicate directly with the brand’s beauty advisors via Whatsapp to get personalised skincare recommendations. Simply send a Whatsapp message to one of the numbers below, and the brand will be able to get back to you. All orders also come with complimentary delivery. One product not to be missed is Sulwhasoo’s new fifth generation First Care Activating Serum, which is now enriched with even more powerful anti-ageing ingredients.

Shop via Whatsapp from the Capitol Boutique (8907 0680), the Ion Orchard Boutique (8907 0680), or the Westgate Boutique (8907 0682).

Hera

If it’s makeup you’re hankering for, take a look at Hera’s new online store at heraonline.sg. The e-commerce platform, which just launched yesterday, allows you to obtain live advice from a beauty expert via the “Chat With Us” function and check out smoothly as you would on any other e-commerce site. Products we would recommend include the new Sensual Powder Matte, a smooth matte liquid lipstick that contains hydrating oil and primer particles to smooth out lip lines. The product is currently exclusive to the website.

Armani Beauty & YSL Beauty

Armani Beauty & YSL Beauty, both run by L’Oreal Group, have also jumped onto the Whatsapp beauty train. Now, you can get the latest product recommendations via text (or video call, should you need an in-depth consultation), with delivery within six to eight working days. Alternatively, if you prefer to shop completely sans human contact, both brands are also avaliable at Tangs, Isetan, and Metro. Don’t miss the new Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Concealer and Luminous Silk Foundation, which will have an expanded shade range available from 10 June.

Shop Armani Beauty via Whatsapp at 8940 1372, and YSL Beauty at 8940 1376. Both brands are also available online via Tangs, Isetan, and Metro.

Those aren’t the end of it — Louis Vuitton’s e-commerce store, which we have highlighted multiple times elsewhere, also retails their candles and fragrances. And besides the aforementioned department stores, there are your usual suspects like Sephora and Net-A-Porter, which have continued their e-commerce operations throughout the circuit breaker period. Long story short — when there’s a beauty will, there is a way.
