It’s a bit of a unique Mother’s Day this year, what with the world on lockdown. You might not be able to take mom out for a scenic brunch or a romantic date-night dinner at a restaurant, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bring the restaurant to your mom.
Below, we’ve compiled 6 restaurants that are still open and doing deliveries and takeaways this Mother’s Day — better yet, we’ve got meals for every type of mom.
01 | For hip moms: Neon Pigeon
Does your momma fancy a crafted cocktail along with her artisanal pork bao? Neon Pigeon has what you’re after. Their special Mother’s Day set menu for 4 features a modern Japanese dinner — think Tokyo hummus with curry chips, duck confit with a side of togarashi — all accompanied by gin cocktails from Strangers & Sons, and some rose petals for a dash of Instagram-pink.
Aside from food, the set from Neon Pigeon also includes a bouquet of flowers from local florist Sing See Soon, and if you’re one of the first 30 orders, you’ll also get an exclusive scent from Lisa Von Tang and a digital meditation sesh from Space2B.
02 | For moms who love tradition: Buona Terra
For Michelin-mindful moms, the 1-starred Buona Terra is the way to go. Treat her to an indulgent 5-course meal that’s specially curated by resident chef Denis Lucchi; the pasta and main course — a decadent Casonceli ravioli with Taleggio cheese and porcini mushrooms, and the chicken casserole with herbs — are inspired by chef Lucchi’s own mother and grandmother, who would lovingly prepare these every Sunday.
Finish off the meal with a refreshing ricotta cheese and pear torta, as well as chef Denis’ special surprise: all ladies get a homemade nougat, a sweet that’s traditionally given in Italy by mothers to their children on special occasions.
03 | For meat-loving moms: SKIRT
If the way to your mother’s heart is with a juicy prime rib, then there is no better place than SKIRT. The steak-and-meat specialists at W Singapore are serving up a special 4-course set menu for Mother’s Day that features wagyu beef tataki, oscietra caviar, and, of course, a mammoth grain-fed beef tomahawk with garlic puree and béarnaise sauce. For an alternative main, they’ve also got grilled seabass coated in herb chimichurri sauce, if you’re so inclined.
After the main event, wind down with the white chocolate-and-berry pavlova and lap up the remnant jus with their homemade bread.
04 | For fancy moms: Saint Pierre & Shoukouwa
You know what’s better than a Michelin-starred meal? A four Michelin-starred meal, brought to you by a collaboration between two-starred French fine dining restaurant Saint Pierre, and the similarly two-starred Shoukouwa.
For Mother’s Day, the two have joined forces to create a 5-course bento box like no other — one that’s replete with royal Belgian osietra caviar, marron, and omi wagyu beef. For dessert, mom will be treated to a selection of petits fours from Saint Pierre.
05 | For high tea moms: Brasserie Les Saveurs
Just because it’s the circuit breaker doesn’t mean your mom has to sacrifice the little luxuries. The St. Regis’ Brasserie Les Saveurs will deliver to you an afternoon tea set that’s packed with an array of gourmet offerings: think pan-seared lobster, artisanal cheese platters, and your choice of mains that range from beef sirloin to Ravioles du Royans.
Of course, we’d be remiss not to mention the spread of sweet treats accompanying the set: there are financiers, tartlets and pralines aplenty, all accompanied by juice from Alain Milliat.
06 | For moms who like a personal touch: Sprmrkt
Finally, here’s a meal that’ll warm the heart and tummy of any mom out there: something that you made (mostly) yourself. Sprmrkt is offering a range of hearty do-it-yourself meal kits, which you can even purchase with the required cookware — just in case you’re lacking a bake tray, or you want to gift it to your mom after the meal.
There are three meal kits to choose from: seafood bouillabaisse, baked sea bream, and baked truffle chicken. Each of them come with kimchi dip and homemade crackers and bread rolls. Just follow the instructions card and you’ll have a homely meal made specially for your mom.
