Magic Mirror, Magic Mirror, on the wall

Harrods’ new Beauty Hall is a high-tech playground for beauty junkies.

Magic Mirror, Magic Mirror, on the wall

Here’s another excuse to spend an entire afternoon in London’s most iconic department store. Harrods’ has just unveiled its sprawling new Beauty Hall, packed with all sorts of bells, whistles, and of course, a smorgasbord of the best beauty brands from around the world.

Spread out over 5 floors and 90,000 sqft, the Beauty Hall is a wonderland for beauty buffs. And if you feel overwhelmed at the number of products on offer, fret not, the new Magic Mirrors are on hand to help you blitz through all those shades and palettes. It allows customers to test a wide range of products, from foundation to lipstick, without needing to physically apply them.

Additionally, numerous beauty counters also offer extensive personalisation services. Guerlain’s new digital consultant walks customers through the process of creating the perfect fragrance before bottling it in an engraved case, while YSL and Givenchy both offer customisable lipstick cases.

Designed to feel like a stately home — aside from the grand staircase that welcomes guests, there are fireplaces and libraries to seek refuge in mid-journey — the Beauty Hall is just the first in a three-part refurbishment of the iconic department store.

Later this year, Harrods will also unveil spaces for masterclasses and treatment rooms — as if one needed more reasons to stay on.
