In just slightly over a month since the Dior Men spring 2023 runway show at Venice Beach, artistic director Kim Jones is readying the summer 2023 continuation as part of Paris Fashion Week Men’s. And based on teasers released, it looks to be one that evokes that familiar sense of soft masculinity that has been a signature of Dior Men by Jones.
The 1975’s Matty Healy appears in two teasers on Instagram where he explores two historic locations that are part of Jones’s inspirations for the Dior Men summer 2023 collection. The first is Charleston Farmhouse that’s associated with the Bloomsbury Group — a collective of British creatives prominent during the first half of the 20th century. The second is Christian Dior’s famed childhood home in Granville, Normandy.
While they are clearly two different places with two different aesthetics, there’s definitely a sense of artistry apparent in the history of both. Couple that with the colour palette of the surroundings of the two as well as the artworks seen in the Charleston Farmhouse teaser — and perhaps the outfits that Healy’s seen in — the summer 2023 collection could perhaps be one that plays around with a muted, soft palette of colours, with artistic flourishes thrown in for good measure.
