Count on Givenchy creative director Matthew Williams to tease the upcoming spring/summer 2023 menswear show with a pair of new sneakers. Williams is one of the wunderkinds of the streetwear-hypebeast world and his credentials include a number of sneaker collaborations. His work at Givenchy has already seen him introducing a few original sneaker designs too.
The TK-MX is set to be the sneaker of the spring/summer 2023 menswear season at Givenchy. If the recently released TK-360 sneakers — first seen on the autumn/winter 2022 runway — look futuristic with a completely knit construction, the TK-MX looks to be a more grounded piece. Its upper resembles a more traditional, sporty sneaker but juxtaposed with that bulbous heel that’s also a distinct feature of the TK-360.
Williams took to Instagram to preview the TK-MX. Three colourways were revealed: a yellow-black combination, a multicoloured iteration with purple outsole, as well as an all-white version. It’s not certain if more colourways will be available but it’s safe to say that the sneakers will be one of the key defining pieces of the spring/summer 2023 menswear collection.
